Regardless of your fitness level or ability as a runner, a good playlist makes every work out seem more than a little bit easier. I actually can’t quite imagine a run without my music – the sound of my feet on the ground makes me tired. (I probably don’t have a bright future as a marathon runner, but I’m very ok with that. I LOVE running just for fun, especially when it doesn’t matter how fast I go!) When I have a great playlist it is far easier for me to workout, and since I believe regular exercise is imperative to intentional living, I guess that makes a playlist imperative too!

It’s all about the variety here

I’ve tried allllllll kinds of music in my playlist, and it turns out I’m pretty picky… lots of the songs on popular playlists don’t make the cut for me. For some reason I definitely don’t need Brittany telling me to work b**ch, but I don’t seem to mind when snoop dog wants to make me sweat. (It’s a stupid song, but for some reason it works when you need a push!). You might even think this list is a little bizarre in it’s complete mash of genres, tempos and general moods. (I often switch up my pace every few minutes during a run, so this works really well for me). I absolutely can’t have a sucessful run without my cute little ipod shuffle. If a slow song comes on and I’m not ready to go slow I just skip it!
